1. Gather hair into a pony tail.
2. Brush so that there are no lumps or lose hairs.
3. Secure a strong elastic around the pony tail.
4. Twist the pony tail.
5. Wrap (coil) the twisted pony tail around the elastic to form the bun.
6. Pin the hair to secure it. Do not use bobby pins for this, use strong hair pins. Slide the pin through the outside of the bun towards the face first of all and then turn it around and attach it to the head. This will ensure a nice shape and good secure hold.
7. Apply hair net.
8. Adjust any pins now that the hair net is in place.
9. Secure hair piece if needed. If it is for a performance or eistedfod all head pieces need to be fastened with loads of bobby pins. This includes head bands and ribbons etc. Also spray hair with product to ensure no wispy bits.
10. Hair should be comfortable but secure, so the student isn't worried about it coming out all the time.
