Welcome to our mini movers class.
This class is for the 5 and under’s to introduce them to the world of dance. During the class we start with a warm up, then go to the very beginnings of R.A.D. classical ballet, touching on things like posture, good toes/bad toes, plies etc.
We also do things like mime and movement with objects such as scarfs. We finish up with Jazz Ballet so the students can let loose and explore their own creative side. The class is also designed to be quite social for the children as it is often one of their first times at being without mum or dad.
A few things I ask from you:
I know it is difficult but I don’t allow any parents to watch. This is the best way for the kids to learn and also to interact with other children. When mum or dad is in the room the children are always running back to them and are not learning to expand on their own. Sometimes it takes some little ones a few lessons to feel comfortable with a new environment and we understand that, so please don’t feel stressed if your child won’t let you leave for the first class or two.
So you all know what is going on in their class, on the last class of every term is a watching day. Please feel free to bring everyone to this class, be that mum, dad, nan, pop or the next door neighbour, everyone is welcome.
The class is always taught by Miss Tiff with one or two junior assistants helping out. With little ones you are often running one to the toilet, doing up ribbons etc and having a few teachers allows all of this to happen without interrupting the class. Class numbers are normally around 15 - to 20 which is quite comfortable with 2/3 teachers. If there is any more than this I will put on an extra class, normally there is huge numbers a the beginning of term one but numbers do settle in the first few weeks.
