Modern is best described as an expressive blend of ballet and jazz although it has a technique and style all of it's own.

Modern Contemporary is currently one of the most popular styles of dance throughout the world with many dance and ballet companies using modern/ contemporary works as a large part of their repertoire.

It is similar to the style performed by the Sydney Dance Company. It's artistic, creative and is a work of art and stands on it's own. Modern is also the core dance style used in the NSW school system from primary through to the HSC.

Modern Expressive (lyrical)
Lyrical modern expressive is a form of dance that gives the student the discipline of ballet, but with greater freedom and more movement. With artistic and emotional expression this form of dance is enjoyable is enjoyable for all age groups.
Both forms of modern are taught in group form at our studio once the student has reached the required technical ability.
