This fee includes an extra $5.00 added on to cover travel and accommodation for the pianist, lunch for both the examiner and pianist (Rita), and also hire of the piano for the mock exam and examination day. Closer to the exams you will also need $20.00 for a mock exam with Miss Rita (our pianist) and a $12.00 fee per student for her to play for your child on the day. This is not due until the week before our exams. Please note: approximate starting date for our exams is the 28th of July and can also run through August.
What you will need for your child’s exams:
Primary Ballet: A pale blue leotard, blue dotted skirt, ballet tights (seamless) and pink satin ballet shoes with ribbons. Small scarf required for some exercises. It is up to you to get this scarf, they need a practice one in their ballet bag and a good one for the exam. Any colour is fine; something that matches their blue uniform would be nice. Please send the practice one into class with your child. I am not too sure where you get scarfs from these days, but I am sure places like K Mart would have them.
Grades 2, 4, 5 and 6: A navy blue leotard, posture belt, pink tights (seamless) and pink satin ballet shoes with ribbons. Character Shoes and Character Skirts. Wire trouser coat hanger to hang character skirt on.
All hair this year is to be done in a low bun with a part down the middle. I have all hair piece
Boys - Navy tights, white leotard/single top, black or white shoes, white socks.
Grade 6
Navy higher grades chiffon skirt available from bloch or duckies. Large free movement scarf. There should be plenty of these floating around from past grade seven’s so please ask around, if not Michelle can make one for you. Please get this organized asap as you will need them to practice.
All hair this year is to be done in a low bun with a part down the middle. I have all hair pieces.
There will also be classes in the 1st week of the July school holidays for exams. There will be no classes in the April holidays or the September holidays.
Major Examinations
For those students sitting for their Intermediate Foundation examination: A fee of $148 is due in on or before the 10th June. This is the fee the RAD charges and no extra fees are or will be included. You will be doing your exam in the Newcastle session but I will get more info out to you when it gets closer. You will need navy or black thin strapped leotard, pink satin ballets with ribbons and pointe shoes, and all the hard work you have in you J.
That should cover everything for exams until the time gets closer.
