I started ballet on the Central coast at the age of 5. At 7 years I also took up jazz which became a very strong passion of mine.
At 15 I moved to Sydney to study full time ballet, I completed my 2 year studies at Tanya Pearson’s Classical coaching academy then moved to Switzerland to continue my Ballet studies at the Swiss national ballet school. After a year and a half of study I completed my diploma in stage dance and moved on to dance with an International apprentice company.
When I finished my year with the company I moved into teaching, I gained my teaching certificate in Luzern, Switzerland. I was teaching and coaching ballet, syllabus and open classes including pointe work, jazz, modern, stretch and choreography. I was lucky to learn the language of the area so not only teaching in English but also Swiss German.
I believe dance not only teaches us to have posture, musicality and co-ordination but it also gives us the basics of life, we gain discipline, confidence and motivation. These are things we will carry with us for the rest of our lives!
