Welcome to Lil Groovers at CMDA, where we specialise in preschool dance classes for children aged 5 and under! Our dedicated teachers are passionate about nurturing your child's love for dance, movement and expression, while fostering essential life skills such as listening, taking turns and following instructions.
The Lil Groovers program helps build strong foundations in ballet, jazz, acro, tap, cheer and hip-hop, giving your child a wonderful introduction to dance. These styles are a great starting point for children to explore a wider range of genres as their dance journey begins.
For our youngest movers, My Big Person & Me is a gentle introduction to dance with their trusted adult. Together, you will explore music, movement, coordination and rhythm in a calm, playful and nurturing environment. These classes support early confidence, listening skills, body awareness and connection, while helping children feel comfortable in a class setting for the very first time. It’s a beautiful way to bond, build trust and introduce your child to the joy of dance.

Lil Combo Jazz and Ballet

Designed for young dancers who love to twirl, glide, and leap, this class combines the joy of jazz and the grace of ballet in a fun, supportive, and enchanting environment.
Through creative play, simple exercises, and whimsical activities led by our experienced instructors, children develop motor skills, coordination, strength, and self-expression. Each class introduces foundational jazz technique, ballet positions, and posture while encouraging confidence, creativity, and a love for dance from an early age.
Lil Jazz

Lil Acrobats

Designed for PreSchoolers, this class helps children develop gross motor skills, safe tumbling techniques, and school readiness in a fun, nurturing environment. Lil Hip Hop

My Big Person & Me (Ages 1 to 2)
Share the joy of dance with your special big person, laugh, move and learn together.
This class is a gentle introduction to dance for our youngest movers and their trusted adult. Together, you will explore music, movement, coordination, and rhythm in a calm, playful environment.
These classes support early confidence, listening skills, body awareness, and connection, while helping children feel comfortable in a class setting for the very first time.
Lil Groovers Program Capped Weekly Fee
$35
Stand alone classes $11 each
Capped fees do NOT include private lessons or any extra costs associated with rehearsals for concerts, eisteddfod, or any extra performances
This fee includes morning and afternoon classes.
Children enrolled in our Ruby Preschool $35 capped fee, can attend any of the weekly classes. Enrolment includes all classes, giving families flexibility if your child is sick or unable to attend some weeks.
At CMDA, we are dedicated to providing exceptional dance instruction and opportunities for growth to every aspiring dancer. Our fee structure reflects this commitment, supporting a high-quality, nurturing dance environment while remaining competitive and accessible.
We offer flexible payment options to suit different financial situations, including weekly/monthly instalments and discounts for siblings or multiple classes. Transparency is important to us, so we provide a clear breakdown of all costs, including tuition, costumes, and competition fees.
Our classes are $11 each until you reach the capped weekly fee, helping families manage costs effectively.
* Additionally, CMDA charges a one-off, non-refundable registration fee of $25 per student for life. Once this fee is paid, you won’t be asked to pay it again.We believe in the value of investing in your child’s dance education and are proud to provide exceptional instruction at Cathy Makin Dance Academy.
