Ruby Preschool Program
Our CMDA Minis program helps build strong foundations in ballet, jazz, acro, tap, cheer and hip-hop, giving your child a wonderful introduction to dance.
These styles are a great starting point for children to explore a wider range of genres as their dance journey begins.
Classes are full of movement and fun while gently developing posture, strength, placement and coordination. Each lesson is designed to be engaging, supportive and age-appropriate, helping children feel confident as they learn and grow.
In addition to dance skills, our classes support early development and social skills, including spatial awareness, listening, and following instructions, both in group and individual settings. These important skills also help prepare children for school readiness in a positive and encouraging environment.

Our Ruby Programs
CMDA Mini’s Program
A delightful introduction to the world of movement and rhythm! In this class, we provide a nurturing environment where toddlers can explore the joy of dance through creative play and simple exercises. We focus on developing motor skills, coordination, and self-expression in a fun and interactive setting. Led by experienced instructors, our Toddler Dance Class encourages young children to discover the joy of movement and fosters a love for dance at an early age.
Jazz Program
Our jazz program Is a fun and lively introduction to music and movement. We foster creativity, coordination, and rhythm through age-appropriate activities and simple choreography. Our classes are designed to create a positive and encouraging environment where preschoolers can have a great time exploring dance and building confidence. Join us for a playful and energetic experience that combines music, movement, and imaginative play!
Acro/Cheer Program
This class is a dynamic and engaging introduction to the exciting worlds of acrobatics and cheerleading, specially designed for our youngest participants.
In this energetic environment, little ones will have the opportunity to develop balance, coordination, and strength through age-appropriate acrobatic exercises and basic cheerleading movements.
Cheer is always a favourite.
Hip Hop Program
Get ready for a high-energy and rhythm-filled adventure tailored just for our littlest dancers. In this class, we introduce preschoolers to the dynamic and expressive world of hip-hop in a fun and age-appropriate way.
Join us for a lively and rhythmic journey as we groove and move together in our Hip Hop Dance Class for Preschoolers. Let's dance our way into a world of fun and self-expression!
Ballet Program
Our Baby Ballet Program is a gentle and fun introduction to dance for young children.
Classes focus on basic ballet movement, coordination and musicality through imaginative play, simple exercises and age-appropriate routines.
Dancers build confidence, balance and body awareness while learning to follow instructions, take turns and enjoy moving with others. This program creates a positive first experience with dance and helps little ones develop a love of movement in a nurturing, encouraging environment.
Tap Program
Our Baby Tap program is a fun introduction to tap dance for little ones.
Children learn basic tap steps and rhythms through music, movement games and simple routines, helping them develop coordination, timing and listening skills.
Classes are playful and supportive, encouraging confidence, self-expression and a love of dance from an early age.
Tap classes also support school readiness by encouraging focus, memory, and the ability to follow instructions.
Ruby Preschool Program Capped Weekly Fee
$35
Capped fees do NOT include private lessons or any extra costs associated with rehearsals for concerts, eisteddfod, or any extra performances
This fee includes morning and afternoon classes.
Children enrolled in our Ruby Preschool $35 capped fee, can attend any of the weekly classes. Enrolment includes all classes, giving families flexibility if your child is sick or unable to attend some weeks.
At CMDA, we are dedicated to providing exceptional dance instruction and opportunities for growth to every aspiring dancer. Our fee structure reflects this commitment, supporting a high-quality, nurturing dance environment while remaining competitive and accessible.
We offer flexible payment options to suit different financial situations, including weekly/monthly instalments and discounts for siblings or multiple classes. Transparency is important to us, so we provide a clear breakdown of all costs, including tuition, costumes, and competition fees.
Our classes are $11 each until you reach the capped weekly fee, helping families manage costs effectively.
* Additionally, CMDA charges a one-off, non-refundable registration fee of $25 per student for life. Once this fee is paid, you won’t be asked to pay it again.We believe in the value of investing in your child’s dance education and are proud to provide exceptional instruction at Cathy Makin Dance Academy.
